SOC 2 certification for ZyLAB

Over the past 35 years, ZyLAB has worked closely with law firms, corporations, and governments to handle eDiscovery, regulatory requests, internal investigations, audits, and regulatory disclosure requests. The ZyLAB software is developed to meet the specific requirements for such applications and is available in on-premise, SaaS and Azure deployments. 

ZyLAB wanted to achieve a SOC 2 certification. Yaron Goldstein, CTO ZyLAB: ‘We chose 2-Control because they are certified auditors for SOC 2. They have a good understanding of ZyLAB’s technical domain (SaaS, Azure) and we experienced a good chemistry between the auditors from 2-Control and ZyLAB’s relevant stakeholders (Security team, CISO, CTO).’

Technical knowledge of a SaaS solution/Azure

ZyLAB’s goal was to achieve the SOC 2 certification. ‘Our expectations from the IT-audit were multiple tracks, good communication and mostly that the auditors had a good technical knowledge of a SaaS solution/Azure environment. We expected open discussions on controls and evidence requirements and that we’d obtain guidelines toward future audits.’ 

Remote audit during COVID19

‘We were very happy with the outcome, but also with the audit process itself and the auditors’ knowledge and experience and level of understanding. Due to COVID19 the entire audit was conducted online. This was done in a very thorough and professional way, so despite this unusual situation the result of the IT-audit was that ZyLAB was able to achieve the desired SOC 2 Type I certification.’

‘I was really impressed with the professionalism of the 2-Control auditors Rogier Haest and Jeroen de Klerk. The audit plan, procedure and engagement was very good. Communication and discussions with the auditors were always efficient and productive. I’ll be happy to follow up with 2-Control in the near future to pursue SOC2 Type II and possible other engagements.’
